We hope you will use this list when you are thinking of donating or adopting. These are some of the rescue organizations helped by Tails of Joy. We are currently inundated with requests, so if we don’t get back to you quickly, please know that if you qualify, you may not hear back from us right away, but you will be put on our list for future Little Guy Grants. Our grants are small, but we hope meaningful. We do our best to help on a “most-needed” and timely basis. They must receive no government money, but rely solely on donations and fundraising.Their finances and/or tax filings must be verifiable on GuideStar.They must spend less than 20% of their income on publicity/fundraising/advertising/administration.They must be mostly volunteer, with no more than one paid staff member.Their adoption contracts must stipulate that if a placement doesn’t work out for any reason, the animals must be returned to them.Rescues must do home checks before adoption and follow-up visits after.All animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped before placement.They must have a verifiable online presence (website, Facebook Page, other).Rescue organizations must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
